June 26, 1977

The Alcester United Church of Christ held their Centennial Celebration on Sunday, June 26, 1977, with a Reunion Day. The day began with a special hour of Morning Worship led by Reverend C.I. Wilkens and Reverend Milo Sheldon.

At noon a catered banquet was served in the Alcester Community Building, followed by an informal program of reminiscing and visiting about the life of the church.

Those recognized as members of the church for 50 years or more were Carrie Ahrens (1914), Mrs. Daisy Keiser (1917), Mrs. Susie Roberts (1922), Mrs. Lenna Swanson (1922) and Mrs. Gladys Cornish (1923).

The Women's Choir (above) performed during the 100th Anniversary Celebration. Pictured are (standing, l to r) Sally Embrock, Kathy Sheldon, Adele Buum, Cleo Bartlett, Una DeRemer and Gale Peterson. Accompanying on the piano is Connie Larsen.

Decendents of some of the early church members and their families (above) were recognized at the 100th Anniversary Celebration. They include Sally Herbrandson, Cleo Bartlett, Bess Naeve, Bud Naeve, Aleta Herbrandson, Doris Larson and Bev Jervik.
